He was inspired by the volunteering experience he obtained at Jeena, another nonprofit resource center for disabled children and their parents.

Manjula Mair Gupta is the Founder/President of the Chai with Manjula organization. She is also the producer/host of a nonprofit TV show, Chai with Manjula. Chai with Manjula (CWM) raises awareness about social issues and initiatives by featuring nonprofit organizations, and social activists, social entrepreneurs and philanthropists who are giving back and making a difference.

Nyna Caputi’s love for social justice saw her working with the homeless and immigrants in the Bay Area but her goal was to do a documentary film on a pressing social justice issue. She was inspired to shoot Petals In The Dust : The Endangered Indian Girls to create awareness of the growing and rampant incidences of female foeticide and infanticide in India. The film is in post-production and the film trailer has already screened in cities across India, USA and Canada.

Pratham is the largest non-governmental organization providing quality education to underprivileged children of India. With a budget of less than $14 million, Pratham uses very low-cost and scalable methods and works in collaboration with the government, local communities, parents, teachers and volunteers across 19 states in India to educate millions of children every year. Pratham’s mission is “Every Child in School and Learning Well.” Pratham USA a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a four-star rating (the highest possible) from Charity Navigator, accepts tax deductible contributions from U.S. donors to create educational reform throughout India.

Aram Sei, which in Tamil means do good things, is a non-profit organization that works with grassroots charities to make education and healthcare accessible to the underprivileged. Founded in January 2012, Aram Sei is a completely volunteer driven NPO that has a firm commitment towards donor accountability and low operational overheads. Aram Sei handpicks small charities from around the world that do excellent groundwork but are lacking reach, visibility and means. The target for our first year was to support the education 250 children from low/no income families in India. To raise funds towards this goal, we organized a series of events in the Bay Area communities ranging from a 2-day 1500-guests entertainment show to small events in nearby playschools.

Rcoz’s mission is to provide access to basic hygiene and sanitation for under privileged communities. Thousands of hotels discard millions of pounds of soap everyday. Impoverished people around the world die from acute respiratory infection and diarrheal. Simple hand washing substantially reduces the spread of enteric diseases. Rcoz helps in dual purpose of saving lives as well as reducing landfills.
